Sabah Chief Minister Musa Aman and his wife Faridah lighting candles as they join Hindus in celebrating Deepavali, the festival of light.
It was a day that Azizah Dun, Sabah minister of community development and consumer affairs, couldn't miss. It was Women's Day on March 8. And despite having an important appointment in her hometown of Beaufort, 80km (50 miles) from Kota Kinabalu, she celebrated the day with her leaders at Zara's Boutique Hotel in the state capital. ViewChief Minister Musa Aman lit a torch on October 9 in Kota Kinabalu to launch the final lap of a five-month long Chinese cultural torch run. It is the precursor to a one-million ringgit ($320,000) national Chinese cultural festival on November 11 at the Likas Sports Complex in Kota Kinabalu. The Sabah government has donated 200,000 ringgit to it and Prime Minister Najib Razak is expected to launch the festival in its 28th year.
