Shortage of veterinarians in Sabah Edit this Letter

Recently, I read about turning Sabah into an agriculture-based state. So, one of the agriculture sectors is livestocks. But I notice that Sabah lacks veterinarians. There are about 4-5 students who are studying for the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine programme in UPM. This is a very small number to meet the demands in the job market. So, I would like insight Sabah to have some data and opinion from professional personnels to discuss the shortage of veterinary manpower in Sabah. Some questions are:

1. What is the state government's solution?

2. How many veterinarians are in Sabah and the sectors they are engaged in?

3. Does UMS plan to offer a new program, namely "Doctor of Veterinary Medicine",  for the benefit of Sabahans?

Insight Sabah is welcome to add any other relevant questions to my list.
