Little to cheer, a lot to worry  Edit this Letter

Sir,

I have just read your article 'Little to cheer, a lot to worry.' It is not only a very well written article but it touches the crux of the problem. Please accept my congratulations. Unfortunately, I have just only discovered your website. I wish I had discovered it earlier. Anyway, I just want to share with your readers my horrible experience as a house-owner. I own and live in a double-storey semi-detached house at Golf Garden built by the father of Susan Wong, the president of Shareda. He is the famous Datuk Ibrahim Wong Kwok.

I have lived in this house for 25 years and since the first day I bought it, I have been beset with countless defects. There is none of us in this housing estate of 53 houses that have not had problems with construction defects. Every year we have to spend thousands and thousands of ringgit. The money that I have spent in repairing my house is enough to buy two semi-detached houses at current prices. Even part of Susan Wong's own house collapsed a few years ago. She rebuilt the house. It was fortunately that none of us bought this unit. Imagine if I were to own this house and I had to rebuild it because part of the back of the house collpased.

Please keep up the good work. I look forward to reading more such articles.
