赴一場爵士樂的約會
馬希迪似乎已看見音樂盛會將會為沙巴帶來遊客無數的金錢
當亞庇表演藝術協會(SPArKS)在三年前提出欲舉辦爵士音樂節時,公衆的反應相當冷淡。不過亞庇扶輪社發現可與他們合作,為其社的社區服務計劃籌募善款。兩者合作後所產生的火花,公衆的反應讓他們感到十分意外:三年的爵士樂表演共吸引超過1000人購買50和100令吉(約16和32美元)的入場票。這項由扶輪社和表演藝術協會聯辦的活動共為他們帶來24萬令吉的款項。爵士音樂節在今年已邁入第四個年頭,而沙巴旅遊、文化和環境部長馬希迪曼俊把目光瞄向遊客,希望能籍此爲期一個月的慶典“賺取”遊客的金錢。

“我們的城市將會成爲世界音樂的中心,”他在5月18日發表今年爵士樂慶典節目表時如是表示。今年的爵士音樂節將在6月18日至19日於亞庇絲綢港灣瑪麗娜高爾夫球與鄉村俱樂部網球場進行。“我們要展現全球的音樂。我們不會只談爵士,相反地,我們會在這個爲期一個月的活動中,納入種種如經典、嘻哈和我們文化的音樂等。”
也是馬來西亞爵士皇后希拉瑪吉之歌迷的馬希迪覺得類似的活動將有助於促進本地商家的業績。“遊客將會湧往我們的城市,”他說。“他們將會在我們的餐館用餐,下榻我們的酒店,購買我們的手工藝品和參觀沙巴州。”
因此,馬希迪表示其部門可能會推出一個特別的“旅遊配套”,籍此向外國遊客推廣這個爲期一個月長的音樂盛會。

然而,私人企業對爵士音樂節的反應卻保持著冷淡的態度。亞庇表演藝術協會主席馮淑娟對此也感到尷尬。“我不方便透露我們實際收入的數目,畢竟這樣會對我們的贊助商不是很好,”她向Insight Sabah如是表示。
亞庇扶輪社主席符家安透露,舉辦一場類似的爵士音樂節所需的經費約為10萬令吉。沙巴州政府是該活動的最大贊助商,共贊助了4萬令吉。這筆錢是來自馬希迪的部門。此外,其他的贊助者包括由沙巴州政府所擁的沙巴發展銀行(贊助5萬令吉),以及丹麥啤酒商Carlsberg、絲綢港灣酒店和馬來西亞電訊公司之一的數碼通公司。
今年爵士音樂節的入門票較往年便宜:兩天的入場票為80令吉,一天的入場票則是50令吉。表演時間為晚上7時至11時。
符氏預料這場音樂節將能吸引3000至5000人出席;去年的出席人數約2500人,在2007年的處女秀則有1000名爵士樂迷到場。
亞庇扶輪社在過去三年都把從爵士音樂節所得的收入,用作在爲居住哥打馬魯都和必打士的沙巴郊區居民的水源計劃。
至於亞庇表演藝術協會如何動用該筆收入則無從所知。“這一部分,我無可奉告。”梁氏披露。“所有如門票的收入都會用在慈善上,其他的如贊助商的贊助費是屬於協會、扶輪社和贊助商之間的事宜,其他人無須知道。”
符氏指扶輪社預料這次入門票的收入可達10萬令吉,而這筆錢將會用作爲2000名居民提供水源計劃之用。– Insight Sabah
