Financial relief to families of Sabah's recent war dead and injured

Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Musa Aman announced the Sabah State Government's contribution to families of the security personnel who were killed and severely injured while serving to protect the sovereignty of the country. The State Cabinet Ministers were also present at the press conference held in Wisma Innoprise earlier today.

The Sabah Government will make a contribution to the families of the servicemen killed while fighting the Sulu armed men who invaded Semporna and Lahad Datu in mid-February this year.

Chief Minister Musa AmanChief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Musa Aman announced this to the media at a press conference following the State Cabinet meeting earlier today.

He said, the State government would contribute RM100,000 to the widows and families of those killed in action and a sum of  RM50,000 to each of the security personnel who have been severely injured.

Furthermore, the Chief Minister revealed that the State Government will also consider extending more support to the widows and their children in the future.

Eight Malaysians have been killed since the Sulu intruders landed in Lahad Datu on March 1st. The Royal Malaysian Police are continuing to track down the remaining armed followers of Jamalul Kiram III who claims to be the  Sultan of Sulu.

“The State Government and Malaysians throughout Sabah greatly value and appreciate the contributions and sacrifices of the security forces in defending the country’s sovereignty,” said Musa. – Insight Sabah
