Chief Minister of Sabah Musa Aman

A statement from Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Musa Aman today said the Malaysian government will double its security following on the latest attacks involving policemen in Semporna on Saturday.

“The Home Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein and Defence Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and I are working closely to monitor the current situation in all areas apart from Lahad Datu,” he said.

Musa disclosed that from an operational viewpoint, Sabah Police Commissioner Datuk Hamza Taib and the army were gearing up operations state-wide.

“I have also been in touch with the Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib last night and he has agreed to increase the strength of army and police force following the latest attacks involving cops in Semporna,” he said.

The Prime Minister, Musa said had also given his assurance that the safety and peace of Sabah would always be top priority.

“I am calling on all the local leaders for their assistance and cooperation to stop spreading rumours that could make this matter worse and increase the anxiety of the people,” he said.-Insight Sabah
