Yee urges closer Sino-Sabah ties

Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Yee Moh Chai

Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Dr. Yee Moh Chai called on Sabahans to explore ways that would lead to the strengthening of cultural and economic ties with China to achieve mutual prosperity. Dr. Yee, who is also Minister of Resource Development and Information Technology said this at the installation of the Ma-Zhong Friendship Association of Sabah in Kota Kinabalu last Sunday, which also marked the 39th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Malaysia-China Diplomatic Relations.

Dr. Yee also expressed his hope that the representatives from China would promote Sabah as the main travel and investment destination for Chinese tourists and investors.

He said that Sabah is a beautiful and peaceful place that is ideal as a holiday destination as well as for for travel and investments.

Ma-Zhong founding president Dr. Oh Ei Sun stressed that there is a world of opportunities to be explored through cooperation between the state and China.

"China is now the world's second largest economy  and Sabah is a land rich in resources and opportunities. This is an opportune moment for Sabah and China to explore more avenues for cooperation and exchanges," he said. - Insight Sabah
