Masa berhibur pemuzik Sabah

<b>Meneroka bakat muzik anak tempatan</b>: Masidi (ditengah-tengah dengan cerut) bergambar bersama band pemuzik Sabah.

Sememangnya ramai pemuzik berbakat di Sabah. Tetapi sehingga sekarang, tiada tempat bagi mereka menunjukkan bakat itu kata Datuk Masidi Manjun, Menteri Pelancongan, Kebudayaan dan Alam Sekitar Sabah. Maka itu, lembaga kebudayaan bekerjasama dengan pusat hiburan Cock and Bull Pub di Waterfront di Kota Kinabalu untuk memberi mereka tempat untuk mengembangkan bakat.

Setiap malam Ahad, 10 kumpulan muzik tempatan teratas akan mengadakan persembahan di pub itu. Mereka dipilih daripada 35 kumpulan dalam pertandingan kugiran yang digelar 'Prima Akustika" yang bermula pada Februari tahun lalu.

"Ini hanyalah satu permulaan," kata Masidi ketika melancarkan Malam Akustika pada 24 Februari. "Kami mahu mereka menjadikan penggubahan muzik sebagai kerjaya."

Katanya, lembaga kebudayaan akan membuat apa yang boleh dilakukannya untuk membantu mengembangkan peluang pemuzik profesional tempatan di negeri ini.

"Persada muzik tempatan dikuasai pemuzik Filipina," kata Masidi. "Kami mahu ubah hakikat itu. Maksud saya di sini ialah, pemuzik kita juga boleh setanding dan sebaik mereka dan jika diberi peluang, galakan dan latihan, mereka boleh pergi jauh."– Insight Sabah
