黃金發展機會

經過98年後,沙巴州鐵道終獲得價值1億2000萬令吉新面貌
業者將之形容為精明合作夥伴關係,而這個夥伴合作關係把沙巴歷史悠久的鐵道轉變成黃金。這條全長134公里(約84英里),橫貫亞庇沿海城鎮丹容亞路至内陸盛産咖啡的丹南的鐵道,由英國殖民政府在98年前爲運送煙草而建造的鐵道,迄今仍變化不大。不過,一家私人房地產企業準備把25公頃(約60英畝)大的沙巴鐵道局,打造成16億令吉(約5億2800萬美元)的現代城鎮與交通樞紐。
這項合資聯營項目將會給予沙巴鐵道局總值 1億2000萬令吉的新面貌:一座五層樓高,位于甘拜園路的總部、一條銜接亞庇國際機場的道路、在京那律(距離市中心約16公里)可容納430員工的72間員工宿舍以及建設一個距離舊鐵軌稍遠的新鐵軌。同時,該處也將建有工場、修理廠和儲藏庫。
這些工程預計將會在2014年完成。
實達集團,一家在1974年創立的上市公司將此發展計劃命名為Aeropod。這項計劃佔地17.5公頃,建有購物廣場、餐館、大型和小型的酒店及公寓。據實達集團主席兼首席執行員劉啟盛表示,該耗資2億3500萬令吉,包含26棟8層樓高的商鋪和辦公樓的第一階段發展計劃已全部售罄。

該公司指新的建築物將備有隔絕飛機和火車噪音的功能。
沙巴首席部長慕沙安曼認為這項靠近機場的發展項目,將加強州內的旅遊業。他指旅遊業需要良好的交通系統,而Aeropod以鐵道為中心的交通樞紐,在未來或將有單軌火車(monorail)或輕快鐵(LRT)或高架天橋。此外,該發展項目也將建設一座敘述沙巴鐵道歷史的火車博物館以及水族館。 – Insight Sabah
