部落客所得收入遠非工程師能比

沙巴漢在互聯網中覓得黃金
現年33歲的石油工程師維克佐瑟尤索(Victor Joseph Yusop)擁有來自頂尖學府倫敦帝國學元的碩士學位資格,然而,他的專業資格卻得不到蜆殼石油公司的重視。幸他過後成功發掘本身另一項潛能—寫部落格,而他的這項能力讓他不僅能謀取生計,亦令他成功參與且開拓互聯網行銷這本潛質無限的生意。
諷刺的是,維克今時今日的成就是拜在1998年席捲亞洲的金融風暴所賜。他在1999年從帝國學院畢業返回國後,始發現本身因全國經濟衰退而成爲失業大軍的其中一員。鑒于蜆殼石油公司不願增聘新人,因此決免除維克接受該公司獎學金負笈英國返回後,本應所需他們服務五年的條件。
“我在1997年經已開始涉足互聯網行銷,惟當時只是以玩票性質參與而已,”維克指出。“我也是在那時候發現原來一個互聯網行銷員的收入,遠比石油工程師所得來得多。”
維克披露,他每月平均可從寫部落格以及互聯網行銷生意所得超過1萬令吉(約2941美元)。
“開始時,我架設的網站多是售賣他人的產品和服務,如網頁寄存域名服務和在互聯網上提供免費產品測試服務,”他說。http://www.absolutelyfreebies.com就是他最早期架設,並為他的網絡行銷生意帶來豐收佣金的網站之一。
“隨後,我從代售他們產品服務進一步拓展成自行設計、開發和售賣自己的軟件,”維克披露。“我甚至以合約雇用方式雇傭軟件工程師為我開發軟件,軟件版權歸我所有,過後我就會把這些軟件透過互聯網對外發售。”
在2004年,他架設了沙巴知名的民生論壇—sabahforum.com,供網民討論沙巴州内所發生的大小事。兩年後,他又架設了sabahan.com,一個與網民分享互聯網行銷經驗心得的部落格。維克承認近來爲了事業已逐漸減少更新招寫部落格和論壇了,畢竟他還有70個其他各類型互聯網行銷網站以及10個部落格同樣需要他的關注。
雖然沙巴住戶的寬頻滲透率只有區區的15%,但在維克眼中,這表示沙巴的電子商務業仍有很大的發展空間。據電訊業者數據顯示,目前馬來西亞全國共有8萬Streamyx寬頻服務用戶,同時預計該服務用戶將會以每年2萬名新用戶的趨勢繼續上升。
“這代表電子商務還未完全被開發。因此這對欲晉身互聯網行銷的沙巴漢而言是絕佳的機會,”他說。
現年32歲的Emily Yap以及25歲的Nina Chong是少數在沙巴開拓電子商務市場的網民。她們倆除了架設本身的時裝網站Pose Boutique外,亦在亞庇Centre Point棕櫚廣場開設實體時裝店。Emily透露,她們時裝網站成功吸引來自西馬和汶萊的顧客透過網購方式向她們買衣。
她們的時裝店自2008年8月份開張以來,迄今已吸引了一批忠實顧客,定期前來消費。“我們的生意額大部分都來自棕櫚廣場的店鋪,”她說。 – Insight Sabah
