A centre point for shoppers

Centre Point Sabah (CPS) has lived up to its name. After 20 years, it still attracts about 50,000 shoppers a day despite competition from new malls such as City Mall and 1Borneo, according to CPS general manager Lynda Wong. Yet when it opened on August 25 in 1990, many didn’t think the six floors of shopping mall with a 10-storey office tower would succeed. It was built on reclaimed land looking out to the sea, away from the bustling old Kota Kinabalu town.
