Dancing for peace and goodwill

The dancers from 13 foreign countries danced their hearts out. But beneath the happy veneer lay a soul troubled by civil wars and poverty. For two nights on July 24 and 25, they found peace and goodwill at the Sabah international folklore festival which was rightly themed “peace through culture”. Kurmonova Aliya of Kazakhstan who led a team of school children aged between 10 and 16 was moved to say: “Your country is very peaceful and enjoyable. We like your friendly people and your delicious food, particularly seafood.”
